Hestia...caught red handed

Sonshine and the Meerkat have just got in from school, and, ever the conscientious mother, I have just shouted hello downstairs to them and not bothered my ass to go and see what they're doing.

Sonshine has just walked into the office, not 5 minutes ago with a book, namely this book, and said: 'What's THIS?'

I was intending to 'tidy' it away at some point today.  It's a book on burlesque strippers from the 1950s.  Basically, it's a book of black and white girlie pictures - the best known burly girls from the 50s.

Mortified, I said that it was my book and that I was interested in it all for the art.

He looked unimpressed and said he was going to tell his dad when he gets home.  I've had to offer them blue ice cream to forget all about it........

Role reversal or what?

  1. LOL Could be worse. (All our Bob Carlos Clarke books are safely out of bounds and the print on the wall is one of the tamer ones :D

  5. NS - mum is burly-friendly, so should be ok.

Trashsparkle - they voted to just play Spore on the computer instead. Hopefully all will be forgotten....

  7. Dear Ali, that's hilarious. He's going to tell his dad?! I would had a good look through and kept it quiet if I was him. Love Ruth's comment too xx

  8. Christina - like most children, he can't resist an opportunity to squeal on someone, even his beloved mother's saucy photo collection lol!

Ruth - downstairs I have a book of erotic short fiction, Dita Von Teese's 'Art of The Teese' and some love poetry books. All up on a shelf, very high and with spines to the wall lol!

  10. It was abour Sonshine's age when I found my elder brother's stash of "Erotic Art" magazines. I had to climb over his bed, up a set of step ladders and remove several cardboard boxes full of clothes to find them. The top shelf might not be high enough to an enterprising young man fueled by a sudden rush of testosterone.

  12. Hee hee! There's no hiding anything from the curious eyes and fingers of the small people. I don't look forward to the days when mine get old enough to add the bribery in to the equation!

On a totally random note, I just clicked on your comment link on Facegoop's latest post. It took me to a Bible Study page. I was very concerned that you had suddenly found religion. Good to know that's not the case and you're still just a regular Mum trying to hide the burlesque pictures from Sonshine ;)
