Hestia's big TADAAAAAH!

Ladies and Gentlemen (and you other assorted types)

I have actually COMPLETED some outstanding projects!!!

First up, I am totally SWOLLEN with pride - my stained glass window!!!  I cannot tell a lie, Tartarus helped complete it (the last four pieces) because I was wasting enormous amounts of glass (and my temper!) by trying to cut an inside curve on the glass.  I managed to do one side of that flower, but the other half was proving tricky (and sweary) so Tartarus took my last piece of glass and simply ground it into shape in the garage.

He has already started the soldering process, as you can see!

One down, one to go.....

This one has taken about three years to do, so am hoping that the second window takes considerably less time to complete!

TADAAAAAAH!

Then, if that wasn't enough, I sewed up two knitting projects.  First of all this pair of wrist warmers (yeah, I know that they're just rectangles sewn up the side with a hole left for my thumbs) but come on, IT'S A COMPLETED KNITTING PROJECT!!!!!!  You've seen the Drawer(s) of Shame..... I have actually finished something!

And THEN, if these two magnificent bits of Projek Completion were not ENUFF, I give you this, my Readers' Wrap, started about three years ago and completed this afternoon.

You'd better all be wearing your *impressed* faces.

Of course, there is still the small matter of the Half Knitted Sock and the Nineteen Balls of Wool With No Discernible Purpose that are hidden beneath my desk.  All this success has gone to my head:  I haz volunteered to knit a sweater for Sonshine.

He's not too thrilled, but since when did THAT ever have any bearing on anything knitted for a child?

So, come on, share what you've completed recently!

PS - Am not insensitive old cow who lives in fantasy world of knitting, glass and gin & tonic.  Have written about Boston bombing on my Tarot blog.

    1. Thanks! It has been a long time coming - but just getting started on the glass was what was needed. I didn't think that I could do it, so kept putting it off. It's not FABULOUS, but it's good enough for the house....and now we've stamped our little bit onto its history :-)

  2. Excuse me whilst I faint with general impressedness. You can make stained glass windows?! That is incredibly cool! The wrap is amazing too - is there a pattern to follow for it? My very feeble knitting skills probably aren't up to it but I'd like to try!

    1. This is the first window that I've done, Alex. I went to a 5-day course at the Glasgow School of Art about 3 years ago and have been putting off doing the two panels ever since!

Thanks for the kind words re knitting - have sent you an e-mail!

    1. That can't be a whole year gone by already?! ALREADY?!! Time flies!!!! I'm betting that your exam went really well - when do you get the results of that exam?

Fanks for the kind words. I'm not a natural 'finisher' of projeks!

    1. I am VERY proud, but it's a bit wobbly in places. Still, we were quoted about £5k to get both the windows done, so even if I had to remake them 10 times each, it still wouldn't cost the amount we were quoted lol!

  7. I'm also a disaster when it comes to finishing projects. I'm glad I'm not the only one. And it was worth the wait, they are all excellent.

    1. It's GREAT to start a project and I'm always FULL of great ideas for things. Then I get started and the enthusiasm just sort of seeps out of me!

  8. I can't imagine being able to make stained glass windows, so color me impressed! Also, the wrap with the pockets is brilliant! Now I want to knit myself something similar for my freezing cold office.
