So, the Knave of Hearts, he made some tarts, all on a summer's day*. The Queen of Hearts, she stole some tarts and will be jogging for an eternity to work them off.....
Well, on 1 May - not QUITE a summer's day. The Littlies all went up to the secondary school to start their familiarisation process for Going Up proper in August. Sonshine's group got Home Ec and he arrived home with LOTS of little jam biscuits.
I may be expected to hand over my glowing red Kitchenaid as some sort gesture of fealty to his new skills.
No chance.
But he will be compelled to bake on a more regular basis now.
Bang goes Getting Fit For Fifty :-)
Hope you're all having a lovely day and not suffering any of these dreadful floods!
Those look nommy :-)
ReplyDeleteThey ARE nommy! And dead easy to make (says Sonshine). Would DD like to make them? Can send recipe to you?

What a proud, happy expression he has!
ReplyDeleteI think you'll find he's just SMUG lol! Seriously, he is a happy chappie most of the time. Wondering how the teenage years will change him *sigh*

He looks so handsome.Enjoy it now before teen angst kicks in.Then again you might be lucky,I doubt it though.Lots of rain down here but thankfully a break in the clouds just now.I'm sure were due a decent summer:)
ReplyDeleteNS - I have informed Tartarus that we are going for weekend break down to your neck of the woods and we will be coming for something to eat. I'll BOOK of course :-D Won't be for a few weeks yet though!
DeleteWe'd BETTER have a decent summer this year. Two days at the end of May is NOT going to cut the mustard with me. Not again.

Have the Lamb Chops. They are the best EVER. Say hi to Mr and Mrs Snippet for me.
DeleteGood lad - he IS handsome, as Northern Snippet says. I reckon Clean Amy might be won over with a top notch jam tart - he should keep practicing LOL! No floods here, thank heavens, but in an almighty strop as Badminton Horse Trials has been cancelled this weekend. Will have to stay at home and kick things :(
ReplyDeleteWas it cancelled because of the weather then Mrs E? What a shame. Don't stay home and kick things! Get out there and find something wunnerful to do (or sew!)

Goodness, moving into the High School, doesn't time fly. The next step is to ask him to make a roast dinner, then do the washing up.
ReplyDeleteAnd give him plenty of cuddles, because they stop wanting them quite soon.
Nooooooooooooooooooo don't say that!!! I want him to be in his 50s and still want a cuddle from his old pee-raddled mother!

ReplyDeleteWith that sort of talent, he could win over many hearts and not just jammy ones.
ReplyDeleteYes, my DS loves doing the cooking lessons and he makes a lovely meringue (they don't tech them that, it was a home challenge I set) :D
ReplyDeleteso handsome and so talented.....my son learnt early that baking could be a good way to a girl's heart!!x
ReplyDeleteHe's a good looking lad, that's for sure, Ali! x
ReplyDeleteRaspberry buns we used to call them... me and and old girlfriend used to scoff them in bed. Eeeh, the romance. As others have said, encourage this trait. I've never met a woman yet who doesn't like to sit back with some cava while a man adeptly disports himself in the kitchen.
